Situation
When ActivateWork initially sought our HR services, they were experiencing rapid growth while striving to build a cohesive organizational culture with many moving parts. As a small organization, they sought to develop their identity through fostering values and norms that could contribute to a unified and positive work environment.
Action
Our HR company spent time listening and learning about the ActivateWork culture prior to recommending targeted solutions and services. We facilitated an all-staff meeting designed to brainstorm and collectively define “how we work” within the organization. Through open discussions and collaborative efforts, we guided the team to articulate and develop values and norms that resonated with the organization’s mission and objectives. These newly established values and norms were then incorporated into “values in action” funneled into performance evaluations and hiring practices to ensure alignment with the organizational culture.
Impact
Identifying and incorporating values and norms into everyday practices resulted in the development of a more cohesive and positive organizational culture.
