Situation
PEBC needed a dedicated Recruitment Coordinator—someone who could craft and execute a recruitment strategy for their teacher training program. With a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, , they required a diverse candidate pool that reflected the communities they serve with a candidate that offered a proven track record of success.
Action
In addition to establishing specific experience and criteria needs, we facilitated discussions that weighed the value of recruitment experience from and on behalf of diverse communities. As a result, we sourced experienced candidates with connections in specific communities that demonstrated a passion for education and its effect within these communities. Combined with an extensive screening and interview process, we identified the best candidates who could effectively help the organization reach specific DEI targets.
Impact
We sourced a candidate with a background in recruiting and deep connections within the Latino community in Colorado. We are pleased to see the teacher training program achieved their DEI targets in the months following the candidate’s hire.
