Small Managed Services company in need of a candidate with expert technical skills that would mesh with the team and support the scale of services offered to clients. In addition, this company places high value on culture fit and team dynamics, which resulted in a more cautious search to identify a candidate that would work well with the team and clients. They understood the high cost of making the wrong hire and approach recruiting with careful consideration of many aspects of the position and company fit.
Action
Establish a process that highlighted and weighted soft skill requirements against technical skills. With this particular client, it was clear that the cultural fit would be the main criteria by which a candidate was hired—assuming the candidate had the prerequisite experience.
